RP in Carnage Wood

Welcome to Carnage Wood, my friend. This is where the dare-devils live. We live on the thin red line of life and death. Most of our dens, our homes, are right beside the Abyss. We're not wimps, yet we're not proud lions either, when it comes to death. We look before we leap. yet we leap despite the drop. Are you one of us?

  1. Rift looked up at the stars only to see a sight that horrified him. The full-moon. He felt his heart quickening and if you looked closely, you could see his eyes had lit up with dread. He slowly rose to his feet and then regretted it. He should've stayed on the ground. He yelled in agony as his body obeyed his DNA and started to change into a wolf-human hybrid. His face elongated into a muzzle and his hands and feet turned into paws. His ears grew into that of a wolfs and he grew a slight tail. He doubled over in his new state and instantly lost track of everything. Which was a shame. Tonight was the night he was going to force himself to talk to the strange girl he had seen the other day down at the river. He wanted to know her name. But that didnt matter now. Now, he was a beast.

He howled long and low at the moon and ran off to hunt and feed and do wht he always did on nights like these.

The next thing he knew, he was lying on his side, his sword in his arms and his tattered clothers even more tattered than before. He groaned and felt an instant pain in his side when he tried to move. He didnt care. What had probably happened was that he had attacked something and it had fought back. no big deal. it happened all the time.

  2. Blaze watched him and lifted his wings. i a blur, he swooped down closer to rift. he changed shape into a girl rift's age, with black hair and silver painted finger nails. she had one red highlight.
    she giggled. "hi, rift."
and stepped out of the shadows.
(when he changes, he chasnges personality to dont think he's a perv or anything.)

  3. Rift looked up and instantly felt his ears grow hot.
"hi....." he mumbled, standing up. Thats when he looked at his side and nearly had a heart attack. there was a big hole where his ribs were, and you could see them through the only remaining layer of skin. Whatever it was that he attacked, it knew how to fight. His white shirt was blood red around it and he quickly lowered his arm and turned to the side so that the girl wouldnt be able to see it.

  4. Faith climbed into her treehouse and dropped a bag of stolen food.
She sighed. She should hunt by herself but instead she was stealing.

  5. Rift heard the wood in Faith's treehouse creak and started walking away from the girl standing in front of him. He ripped off part of his sleeves and tied them around his ribcage to cover up his wound. The last thing he needed was help from someone he didnt even know. He came to a stop in front of the tree and rapped his knuckles against the wood a couple of times and waited for a response.

  6. Blaze growled lowly as rift walked away, and transformed into a black 15 foot anaconda, quietly slithering along the ground. slithered up a tree and into faiths tree house. on the top, he transformed into an identicle copy of faith.
'faith' looked down and said, "what do you want, rift?" she lowered a vine ladder down to him and grinned.

  8. She heard a knock at the door.
'That's funny,' she thought. 'I don't know anyone out here but Blaze.'
She looked through the hole in her narrow door and gasped. The boy standing there was pretty handsome and she blushed for a minute.
"I never saw you make that face before," Blaze teased.
Faith shook her head and asked through the door, "Who are you and what do you want??"

  9. Rift jerked his head back to face the door. He had been staring off into space. "uhhhhhh......... I'm Rift and i dunno....." he said, barely above a mumble. He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "I guess I was just curious about who was on my side of the river. Whats it to you?! I mean, other than the fact that im standing at your doorstep." he added, fumbling for a better response. this wasnt like him. He was always the one to come up with smart responses to contradict anybody. But, somethin was messin with his head. His side started to throb. He managed to ignore it, but barely.

  10. She opened the door a little, and a bunch of questions popped up in her head. But those could wait.
"You live around here?" she asked, staring at his snow white hair.
He rubbed that back of his neck again. "Um, yah, actually not so far away.
Maybe they could be friends... Blaze and her were friends and if that, anything is possible.
    Faith opened the door wider.
She spit on her hand and held it out. "Friends then?"

    ReplyDelete
  11. He looked at her hand like it was a foreign object. "uhhh......" he managed to sortta say.
    "you shake it." Faith explained.
Rift nodded and spat on his own hand. It felt slimy and nasty against the palm of his hand. He took Faith's hand and then, awkwardly shook it up and down a little.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Faith laughed at his face and saw Blaze shake his head. He was in the form of a boy about her age.
"Oh, do you know Blaze? He lives around here too."
Rift stepped in. "No," he started to spit on his hand again when Blaze stopped him.
"Oh um yah I don't do that stuff," he said looking disgusted.
"Alright so I'll show you around," Faith said.

  13. Rift wiped his hand off and scratched behind his ear roughly, shaking his whole body in the process. Unfortunately for him, his make-shift bandage came loose and fell the floor in a semi-bloody heap. He bent to pick it up and try to retie it around his waist again too late. Faith had noticed.

  14. The wolf in her started to scream for real food but she held back. She would not kill him, he was special.
"Oh," she murmured. She got a wet rag that happened to be on the counter.
She got on her knees slowly as she blushed. "This might sting...." she said.
"Bonding moment!!" Blaze whispered and he went out the door.
Faith cleared her throat and stood up. "You can clean it, I'll get some bandages," she said and went off to get some.
Was that a smirk on his face??

    ReplyDelete
  15. "too scared to clean it yourself, or too scared you might attack." he called, forcing his hand to do what he wanted and put the rag on his side. "Trust me. I know the feeling. I live that feeling every day of my life. Wait another 2 weeks and find out for yourself if you want." he added, a half-playful sneer on his face.

    ReplyDelete
  16. "It's not that," she admited coming back with bandages.
"Then what is it?" he pushed on.
She tossed the bandages at him and walked into her room. Two guest rooms were next to it.
"I think your cute," she said softly, closing the door. "Make yourself at home," she said, more loudly and closed the door.

  17. This caught him off guard. For years he had secluded himself and forced himself not to get too attached to anybody, or else he might lose them to the beast.
"urr......." he mumbled, fumbling with the knot he was trying to tie around his waist. "I think your pretty...." he called gently, then he regained his usual self and added, "pretty wierd." He grinned, his eyes alight with playfulness.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Faith heard him and instintly thought he was a jerk.
She crawled out her window and sat on the roof.

    ReplyDelete
  19. He heard the window slide open and his grin widened. He slid out the window and made it halfway before he got whacked on the top of the head.
"oww?" he said, rubbing it and looking up. "what was tht fr, exactly?" he asked, whining like a little kid.

"bein stupid." came Faiths simple reply.

"get used to it. its how i am. Ask any of the other derps i've met." he answered, sitting on the window sill with a foot on the sill and an arm around his leg.

    ReplyDelete
  20. "Listen," she said, moving hair out of her face. "I know we just met but I feel fuzzy around you."
"Other then the fur?" he joked.
She smiled. "Had, I wish you could understand Rift."
Faith wanted to get away from him, but now that he followed her to her room there was no where else really to go.
    The river maybe?
She changed into her wolf form, that had feathers in its fur from all the bird catching.
She nodded her 'see you later' and jumped off of her roof to the river.
Finally to be alone, but is that what she really wanted?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Rift watched her go, not wanting to follow her. Well, he did want to follow her, but he didnt. He did understand though. He liked her. He had spent weeks working up the guts to talk to her. He slid all the way out the window and hopped down and walked to his favorite tree and climbed to the very top branch that would hold his weight and laid down like he was on a couch, even though he was at least 15 feet up.

  22. She couldn't be gone, her heart didn't let her.
Faith bent her head to take a long drink until she heard a "Hey!" behind her.
She looked up and saw Rift and tilted her head. 'Is he still following me?'
But she saw that glint in his eye.
    She changed forms. "Sup Blaze??"
He laughed. "You always know it's me."
She shugged. "Used to it now, hey I should be getting back, any tips?"
He started to walk away. "Just be you....."
Faith nodded and ran back to her house.
The hungry for food was growing.

  23. As soon as i turned away though, i became bitter and sneered.
'Just be yourself'. yeah, what great advice that had been for me.
"i dont even know WHO i am..." i muttered as soared silently through the forest. when i reached The Overhang, and huge over handing rock that was taller than the trees, i perched and cawed loudly. i waited until all of the animals of carnage wood gathered.

  24. Rift watched the sky for a while then decided he'd better get back before Faith started to worry or somethin. Like she'd ever worry about a jerk like him.
"well then....." he muttered, after falling the remaining ten feet and scraping his side and inside of his arm. He yelped when his right shoulder jerked painfully as he caught himself with one arm.
"perfect. what else could possibly go wrong now." he grumbled as he walked back to Faith's. then it started to rain. Rain wasnt the right word for it. Monsoon. that was more like it. It's like the clouds just decided to open up and ruin the rest of Rift's day.
"argh!!!!" Rift growled as he ran through the drops that flew into his eyes and face and drenched him in seconds.
Soon enough he made it back. He stood at her door, not wanting to just randomly walk back in, but having the biggest desire to do just that. His hair was plastered to his head and so was his clothes. He knocked again, hoping she'd hurry up and answer the door.

Rift looked toward the overhang and groaned. He trudged along through the rain, which slowly began to stop, and soon made it there. He saw Blaze perched on the overhang and took his place in the back, leaning against a tree.

  25. Faith heard Blaze and came to see Rift looking bloody and wet.
"What did you do?!" she said worriedly.
    "Don't worry about it...."
She grabbed a clean waxy leaf and started to clean the blood off. Rift didn't say anything while she did.

  26. Or, he didnt until she tried to lift his arm. she managed to put one hand on it and grip, but he yelped when she tried lifting it to get the scratches on the inside of it.
    "what?" Faith asked, clearly worried.
"dunno... guess its dislocated or somethin. how the crap should i know, im no healer." he said in reply. He was too tired to say anything else.

    ReplyDelete
  27. "Well then it's time we got a healer," she said looking up at Blaze. "We need one now!"
Blaze growled. "I know what we need and what we don't need."
Faith looked worriedly at Rift. "Let's get you back to the tree house."

    ReplyDelete
  28. He opened his mouth to speak, then closed it again. He didnt have anything to say for once, and if he did he wouldnt anyway.
He let Faith lead him back to her treehouse.

    ReplyDelete
  29. She kicked open the door and struggled to hold up Rift on his wounded side.
She led him to the couch and set him down.
"What about the meeting?" Rift asked.
"well, Blaze will just have to come to us if he wants to speak to us so badly."
She walked down to the guest room where some of the man(she murderered)'s clothes where. They were a little big but they would have to do.
Since Faith met him, Rift's clothes looked really uncomfortable and ripped up.
She found a shirt that said 'Player' and laughed.
She also grabbed some jeans that looked smaller then the others.
Faith folded them and handed them to Rift. "Thought you could do with something better then a ripped up shirt and a bathsuit of pants.

  30. He shrugged and bit his lip when a lance of pain shot up his arm.
"First you might want to fix that." he said, gesturing to his arm. He ripped off his sleeve, so his bad arm wouldnt get caught in it, and then took off the remains of his shirt, where it was completely visible that his shoulder was dislocated. It was sitting at an awkward angle.
"this is gunna hurt isnt it." he said, looking at it again and then imagining what would be done.

    ReplyDelete
  31. She bit her lip, not completly sure what to do.
    "I need help..... I don't know."
    He sighed in pain.
She got on her knees and looked at his arm. "I honestly don't know how to pop it into place saftly or without pain."

  32. "Well then, get me a fat stick and hope you dont kill me." he said, with a slight sneer.
Faith got a small log and handed it to him.
"ok, when i say 'go', you push it as hard as you can, ok?" he ordered, holding his arm out, while the rest of his body was pushed against a wall.
Faith nodded, and Rift bit down on the log.
"go!" he said before he could change his mind.

Faith shoved and he yelled at the top of his lungs, dropping the log to the floor in the process. But soon enough there was a POP, and he stopped yelling and sunk down on the ground, rubbing it.

"much better. It buggin' hurt like the devil but it feels better. thank you." he sighs, standing and moving his arm around. "but im pretty sure there was an easier way to do that. oh well." He shrugged, grabbed the new shirt and jeans she brought him, and went into the bathroom.

After he was changed, he opened the door and pointed to the toilet.
"what the devil is that supposed to be?! It looks like a buggin eye ball!!!" he exclaimed, still pointing at it.

  33. Faith laughed.
"You'll figure it out," she said looking in the cabnets and finding a stash of apples and oranges. She took one.
'This wold have to replace meat today.'
She looked and the oversized shirt that he was wearing. It said 'Player' on the front.
"I choose a wonderful shirt for you didn't I?" she asked, taking a bite of her apple.
He rolled his eyes an put his hands on his hips. "Fantastic."

(Leaving for vacation now! Keep the story going ;))

    ReplyDelete
  34. (lol alright. XD)

Rift grinned despite himself and shook his head.
"dont you have any meat in here? you know like deer, pork, chicken?" he asked, lookin in cabinets and settling with a bag of jerky he found in the very back of a cabinet, behind at least 20 cans of vegetables.

Faiths mouth dropped open when he pulled the bag out. She had looked all over and couldnt find anything meat related.
Rift noticed and grinned. "what? you didnt know it was there?" he teased, laughing as he ripped the top off the bag and took out a big handful before tossing it back at her.

"sure beats that stupid apple." he laughed, picking the exact moment when his mouth was full, halfchewed jerky and all, to speak.

    ReplyDelete
  35. She shoved him smiling. "I have to steal my food if you didn't know and appearently i live near veggie people." She turned her head. "I can't hunt anymore anyway."
    Rift's smile disappeared. "Why?"
Faith shook her head. "I'm not sure. I just stopped. Maybe with you here, a friend, I could try again."

    ReplyDelete
  36. "why'd you stop in the first place?" he asked, again choosing the time when his mouth was full to speak.

He snagged another handful and walked in a stupid way over to a window where he sat on the sill, stuffing jerky in his mouth.

    ReplyDelete
  37. "Seeing them die, reminds me I could die just as easily," she murmured.

    ReplyDelete
  38. "oh. well hopefully you wont think that again because i'll be there for you. Considering that you're the first actual living and breathing human-thing that i've seen since i met Blaze." he said, stumbling over his words, trying to figure out the right way to put it.

    ReplyDelete
  39. She flicked her tail and walked over to the window where Rift was sitting and playing with his hands.
"What do you mean?" she asked.

    ReplyDelete
  40. "Its hard to put into words. considering im a guy, and your a girl, and im horrible at talking to anybody, always have been since the accident, and i dont like getting to attached to something and im just rambling on and im probably not making any sense right now, am i." he said, bringing his knees up and wrapping his arms around them.

    ReplyDelete
  41. She looked down at her feet. Then she briefly smiled. "I understand most of the time," she looked back up. "But not this time."
Faith felt the need to change the subject.
"When is the next full moon Rift?"

    ReplyDelete
  42. He gratefully smiled slightly. "roughly 3 days from now. which is why i wont be here for at least a couple days. Im not going to be anywhere near you, or anybody I know for a couple days. Because im not like you. when you change, you still remember everything about you and who your friends are and everything, right?" he asked.

When Faith nodded, he continued. "well I dont. I lose everything. I dont even remember what my own name is. I cant remember anything at all. So, if im still here when i change, i'll most likely attack you. or blaze. or anybody here for that matter..." he trailed off, a sense of overwhelming dread settling over him.

"I dont get a choice. Which is why I think you're the luckiest person i've ever met, along with Blaze. You guys get to choose the life you want to live, while Im forced to be this, a horrible, decieving beast!" he muttered, his head falling to his knees.

"and i probably just rambled on again, didnt I." he said past his knees.

    ReplyDelete
  43. "No!" she said. "You have a right to talk about this."
"Luckily I have a place you can stay during that night. I was planning to show you my steal outlet. Do you thing that will be enough?"
    He srugged.
Now that it came to her mind, Faith wondered if he would remember who she was and her feelings for her.
"You should write yourslef a note, I won't read it but I'll keep it in my house so after morning comes it might even remind you."

    ReplyDelete
  44. He shook his head.
"most likely wont work. Besides, its only when im in wolf form when i wont remember you. After Im back to what i am now, I'll have all my memories back. and, how far away is it? your "steal outlet", I mean. It has to be somewhere i wont fi-" he cut himself off as a thought struck him.

"I know what I can use. Ok, so every were-wolf like me was born and given an item. they give the person they care about most that item and while the were-wolf is in wolf form, they wont attack him or her. I hid mine, because I had cut myself off from everyone and didnt need it. I cant think of a better person to give it to right now, than you." he said, standing up and grinning.

"I'll be back. Unless you want to come with me." he offered, walking to the door.

    ReplyDelete
  45. He shooed him off blushing.
"I need to take a shower and it will be ten times easier without you here."
Rift winked and he was off.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Rift jumped up and swung on a branch and let go, grabbing onto another branch, sortta like Tarzan, only with branches that are horizontal. his right shoulder ached and he had to stop with the tarzan act.
"now, if i were a 13 year old idiot, where would i put my most prized possession..." he muttered to himself.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Faith watched him go..... :P

    ReplyDelete
  48. ---2 days later---

Rift dragged himself forward, barely even awake. He had searched forever, not allowing himself to sleep more than an hour. But he had found it. And now he was on his way back, with the precious and possibly even life-saving, item around his neck.
He had fallen a couple times, gotten himself even more banged up, and even gotten himself into a fistfight with a butcher. He won, but not by much. He had a split lip and a badly bruised jaw to show it, too.
But, all he cared about was his prize. He clenched a fist around it protectively as he kept walking in the direction of Faith's tree house.
soon, he was there, banged up and exhausted beyond belief, standing at her doorstep.
"Faith!! I'm back!! with a day to spare, too." he tried to grin, but found that it hurt his jaw so he settled for a very pleased smile.

    ReplyDelete
  49. "Omigosh!" Faith exclaimed. She ran to Rift, her tail trailing behind her. She instintly touched the wound on his face. "You seriously need to stop this," she said as he grabbed his arm and pulled him inside. "You should change your clothes."
He rolled his eyes. "Don't waste them. I would just get them dirty tomorrow."
Then Faith spotted the neckles type thing on his neck and murmured, "That's beautiful...."

    ReplyDelete
  50. "and its yours." he said softly.
"now put it on." he added, taking it off and holding it out for her to take.

    ReplyDelete
  51. "So this will protect me?" Faith asked putting the neckles.
    "Its supposed to......." Rift murmured
    "Supposed to??" Faith shrieked.
Rift put his hands up innocently.
"To my warehouse!" Faith went to grab Rift's arm but instead she accidently grabbed his hand.
    She pulled back. "Uhhh."

    ReplyDelete
  52. Rift grinned.
"what? you did it, not me." he said innnocently, grabbing her hand.
"ok, that time it was me." he said, laughing when Faith blushed.
Faith balled her other hand in a fist and slugged him hard on the shoulder.
"ow." he laughed, letting go of her hand and rubbing his shoulder, still grinning and laughing like an idiot.

    ReplyDelete
  53. "Ugh," Faith said. "Come on." She grabbed his head and pulled him out of the tree house and headed for the warehouse.
It was going to be a long walk.
"Why are we going the warehouse thingy anyway??" Rift asked.
"Just in case it doesn't work," she said. "Its going to be a while though."

    ReplyDelete
  54. "it should work. I mean, it will work." he said, trying to sound more certain than he felt.
Finally, they arrived. When Faith opened the door, Rift stepped inside and looked around. And much to his dislike there was no soft floor, moss, leaves, or even a blanket or pillow in sight.
"do I really have to sleep on this? It solid concrete..." he whined, turning around to face her.

    ReplyDelete
  55. "Don't look at me! I found it," Faith said cleaning out some art stuff. "I don't know if it was supposed to be a garage or what but its pretty sitcure and if it doesn't hold you, so what? I hardly use it."
"It probably won't but its worth a shot," Rift said.
Faith wondered around and found a closet with only one air matteres and one blanket. "I never expect company so I only have one set of stuff but you can have it. Concrete is fine for me."
She took that prefilled matteress and blanket and pillow and chucked it at him.
"I'll leave in the morning," she told him and tryed to get comfy on the ground.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Rift kicked the matress and stuff over to her and slid down the side of one of the corners.
"you have it." he said simply.
He let his head fall back and within seconds he was out like a light, snoring softly.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Faith smiled but didn't move.
She slowly drifted off to sleep.

  58. -skipping to the next night. >:3 lol-

Rift grimaced and tried to fight back against the call, as he did every full-moon. His fingers twitched as he convulsed. It was almost done. He growled and threw his head back in a snarl of agony as his face elongated into a snout. The transformation was done. The wolf-Rift howled long and low, as it tried to get out of his prison.
He growled and snarled as he used his body as a battering ram, eventually unhinging the door. He leapt out and looked around before trotting off, unfortunately towards Faith's treehouse.
